Message from Acomb CC – we just wanted to provide an update to all our members on the guidance that we have received from the English Cricket Board which is that all forms of recreational cricket are suspended. A copy of the full article can be found here;
https://www.ecb.co.uk/about-us/media-room#/pressreleases/ecb-statement-on-covid-19-planning-ahead-of-start-of-domestic-season-2981933 The General Committee at Acomb Cricket Club will be following this guidance, which means that ALL cricket will be suspended at Acomb Cricket Club (both indoor and outdoor games and practice) until further notice. We will keep you informed of any changes as this progresses.
It is also worth mentioning that March and April is an important time for our Groundsman, Dave Tute, every year in terms of getting the playing square ready. Dave has kindly agreed to carry on with the pre-season work in the hope that we will be able to play at some point this season. This will be the only activity on the ground until further notice and we would ask all members to respect this. We are clearly in an unprecedented position in our lifetime/generation, but we hope to be able to get back to practicing and playing cricket in the near future. In the meantime if you have any questions, please contact
acombcc@yahoo.co.uk and we will respond to your question as soon as possible. If we get lots of questions we will probably publish some of the frequently asked ones along with our response over the next few weeks.
